This is eerie....

....in so much that Senators Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or Mike Lee could give this same speech today and it would mean exactly the same thing.

Isn't this rich? The "Enforcers" want to opt out! Really!

The same people who are going to enforce (i.e., force) Obamacare want to be excluded from it!  I would say it's ironic, but in actuality this ought to REALLY piss you off!  When will people wake up?

It's like the proverbial, "How do you boil a frog? Put him in a pot of cool water and continue to turn up the heat."

Aren't YOU hot enough yet?

IRS employee union: We don’t want Obamacare

BY JOEL GEHRKE | JULY 26, 2013 AT 11:45 AM
Washington examiner

IRS employees have a prominent role in Obamacare, but their union wants no part of the law.
National Treasury Employees Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.
The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.”
The NTEU represents 150,000 federal employees overall, including most of the nearly 100,000 IRS workers.
Like most other federal workers, IRS employees currently get their health insurance through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, which also covers members of Congress.
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp offered the bill in response to reports of congressional negotiations that would exempt lawmakers and their staff from Obamacare.
“Camp has long believed every American ought to be exempt from the law, which is why he supports full repeal,” Camp spokeswoman Allie Walker said.
“If the Obamacare exchanges are good enough for the hardworking Americans and small businesses the law claims to help, then they should be good enough for the president, vice president, Congress and federal employees,” she also said.
“The NTEU represents Internal Revenue Service employees who have the responsibility to enforce much of the health insurance law, especially in terms of collecting the taxes and distributing subsidies that finance the whole system,”  said Paul Kersey, director of Labor Policy at the Illinois Policy Institute.
“IRS agents will also collect data and apply penalties for those who fail to comply with many of Obamacare’s requirements,”  Kersey said.

Stop Congress From Exempting Itself From ObamaCare!

Huma Abedin Faces Backlash For Defending Anthony Weiner Amid Sexting Scandal

Says Husband Made 'Horrible Mistakes' But Sexting Matter 'Between Us'

July 24, 2013 10:46 PM

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Anthony Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, has been hit with a widespread backlash after standing by her husband as he admitted to another sexting scandal.
Back in 2011 when a heckled, harried Weiner resigned from Congress and apologized for the explicit text messages that had destroyed his career, his then-pregnant wife was notably absent.
The Daily Caller 5:46 PM 07/24/2013
The man who broke the most recent Anthony Weiner sexting scandal said that the embattled New York politician presented his marriage to young women as a sham and even planned to purchase a “secret bunker” in Chicago that could house real-life trysts.
“They talked to each other daily on the phone. They told each other they loved each other,” Nik Richie, the founder of the gossip website TheDirty.com, said Wednesday on HuffPost Live.
Weiner’s sexting partner, who began her virtual relationship with Weiner at age 22, felt that the marriage between Weiner and his wife Huma, a former Hillary Clinton aide, was “more of a staged marriage for political gain” and believed that her romance with Weiner would be actualized in a secret condo in Chicago.
“They were going to be able to act [their sex fantasies] out” in a condo in Chicago, which was going to be Weiner’s “secret bunker” for sex, according to Richie.

“She believed him. This girl was starstruck,” Richie said.

“He had a really strange shoe fetish,” Richie said. “The guy has serious, serious issues. There’s no way this is the only girl.”

And now for the "pull quote" of the article:
Richie indicated that Weiner’s marriage may, in fact, be a political facade.
The hell you say.....
Now, back to the founders:
"....But I go on this great republican principle, that the people will have virtue and intelligence to select men of virtue and wisdom. Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks--no form of government can render us secure...."  - James Madison, Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 20, 1788

IRS Chief Counsel (1 of 2 IRS Political Appointees) Implicated in IRS-Tea Party Scandal

Peggy Noonan, in her column in the WSJ yesterday provided very succinct  summary of testimony in the Congressional hearings.

Let me summarize the summary:

Elizabeth Hofacre (IRS - Cincinnati) pointed her finger up to Carter Hull a lawyer in the IRS Washington office.  She was told that all Tea Party and Patriot cases got "kicked upstairs" while all others were to be processed as normal.

Carter Hull then testified that these cases would get reviewed by the IRS chief counsel William Wilkins, one of only two political appointees in the IRS. He then sat on them through the 2012 election cycle.

Ronald Shoemaker (Carter Hulls supervisor), told investigators he didn't find that kind of question unreasonable, but he found the counsel's office to be "not very forthcoming": "We discussed it to some extent and they indicated that they wanted more development of possible political activity or political intervention right before the election period."

So this is a bombshell allegation on the order of Watergate, right?  All the media outlets are scurrying to investigate and report this, right?  Oh, contraire mon frere....    See screen prints below:

Even Fox News pays little attention:

So how do we respond?

At what point will we need to stage marches in front of news stations across the nation to get them to report that this regime is using the IRS to target U.S. citizens and affect the outcome of elections?

Will we wait until after the 2014 elections?

After the 2016?

WHEN....?

"Independence" Day, indeed....

FYI - I videotaped a couple cops pulling people over at random while in Alabama a few weeks ago.  He saw me videotaping and came over to where I was parked to ask if I was videotaping.  I said I didn't think it had taken, as I wasn't sure how to use my new phone.  When I asked him what they were doing he said just protecting people's safety by checking for registration & insurance.  I so wanted to tell him he was full of it.  They were out looking write tickets and maybe find an illegal or two.  The founding fathers are surely rolling in their graves.  Luckily there was a way to get out of the parking lot that didn't go through their checkpoint.  They just had to watch as I drove away.
