Conspiracy, or not?

Thanks to Rush Limbaugh for pointing this out and "RealHistoryChannel" on YouTube for making this clip available.

As "RealHistoryChannel" says:"At 2 minutes, 20 seconds into this C-Span video clip, Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania explains how the Federal Reserve told Congress members about a "tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the United States, to the tune of $550 billion dollars." According to Kanjorski, this electronic transfer occurred over the period of an hour or two."

Which leads me to the question, "Could some government have done this on purpose with the sole purpose of creating a financial crisis to drive the Republicans out of power and give them someone they perceive as easier to deal with? Or, could someone like, say George Soros (and company) have done this to garner power for moveon.org and all its affiliated groups?" Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but it sure seems strange that the bulk of the problems occurred on a single day, conveniently a month before a national election and just as McCain/Palin started to gain steam.
