Do liberals want jobs or not?

Here are some very interesting stories.

For those of you who do not know about American Apparel, their manufacturing facility is in downtown LA. They pay more than the going wage rate and offer benefits in an area that is largely bereft of solid reputable manufacturing companies. You can argue their advertisements are not appropriate, but you cannot argue that their products are proudly a Made in the USA (at least for now).

Of course, when they want to open a new store in other blighted neighborhoods, they sometimes run into people resistance.

Then there is the 800 pound gorilla in the room, Walmart. Again, no company is more controversial than this one, but it seems absolutely insane that they do not have a store in Chicago (or many major cities for that matter). They have done more for the so-called "working poor" in this nation than the government has done since LBJ's "War on Poverty" and the inception of his "Great Society." Of course, in spite of the potential of revenue generated by the construction of up to 12 NEW stores on Chicago (using union labor with the usual kickbacks to the union bosses - no doubt), they (other unions) don't want Walmart stores.

Why do I think all of the U.S. is about to get a taste of politics, Chicago style...?
