Kellermann, 41, was named acting chief financial officer in September 2008 and was a member of the company's leadership team reporting directly to CEO David M. Moffett, who resigned last month.

Sources said Kellerman had a reputation at Freddie Mac as "the answer man."

"Kellermann was a behind-the-scenes guy who never showed up on anyone's radar until he was appointed (acting) CFO last September. He had a reputation of being a straight shooter with high ethical standards," said Guy Cecala, publisher of Inside Mortgage Finance, a mortgage trade publication that covers Freddie Mac.

Freddie Mac Interim CEO John Koskinen issued a statement Wednesday that the "Freddie Mac family is truly saddened" by the news.

Relieved is probably more like it.... If he was a straight shooter, he probably uncovered Freddie was ripe with corruption and either :

1. Hung himself because he found out he was probably complacent in the wrong doing (either knowingly or unknowingly)

2. Was murdered and it was made to look like a suicide, a la Vincent Foster, before he could be subpoenaed to testify under oath to any future investigation (not that there will be any, as long as the dems control congress).

Either way, I am sorry for his family's loss. Tragedy is tragedy, whether it is self inflicted or meted out by others.

'House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated'
Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

According to Monckton, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Energy & Commerce Committee, had invited him to go head to head with Gore and testify at the hearing on Capitol Hill Friday. But Monckton now says that when his airplane from London landed in the U.S. on Thursday, he was informed that the former Vice-President had “chickened out” and there would be no joint appearance. Gore is scheduled to testify on Friday to the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment's fourth day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The hearing will be held in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

The Global Warming Hoax Deniers keep up their cover-up. Al Gore and the dems know their bogus claims can't be substantiated by the facts. With the brass ring in sight (carbon tax) they cannot let the cracks in their arguments be seen as the canyons they really are. Does anyone with an ounce of common sense and even the most basic knowledge of statistics (let alone climatology) really believe man is causing climate change? REALLY?

While America slept on Wednesday April 25 we woke up to find headlines about how Michelle Obama likes to sneak out and eat at fun restaurants. Not so well covered by the media was the passage of the Hate Crimes bill re-introduced and passed in committee by John Conyers. (D-MI) What does it mean?

The bill co-sponsored along with 42 other representatives and crafted by openly gay Congressmen Barney Frank is riddled with gay agenda politics and disregards the will of the people. It was introduced between sessions when little attention is being paid to discussions or votes in the house and is riddled with skullduggeries.

Today we may have come to the place where America is being asked to ‘wrong a right’ with Congressmen Barney Frank’s H.R. 1913. Similar bills such as H.R. 1592 were struck down by Presidential veto in 2007.

The dangers of the bill are inherent in its very premise and it could serve to become the first bill in our history that guarantees freedoms to one group of citizens at the expense of freedoms to another.

So, I guess "why" a crime is committed is as (or more) important than "what" the crime is. So, I guess if you are going to be a murderer, you better only kill old, heterosexual, white men. Our lives are apparently worth less than young, gay, black men.
So much for the 14th Amendment:

Incumbent Senator Arlen Specter trails former Congressman Pat Toomey by 21 points in an early look at Pennsylvania’s 2010 Republican Primary. Fifty-one percent (51%) of Republican voters statewide say they’d vote for Toomey while just 30% would support Specter.

Specter is viewed favorably by 42% of Pennsylvania Republicans and unfavorably by 55%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state. Those are stunningly poor numbers for a long-term incumbent senator. Specter was first elected to the Senate in 1980.

Toomey, who served in the House from 1999 to 2005, earns positive reviews from 66% and negative comments from just 19%.

Maybe we cna finally be rid of this RINO!

This Story Is Wrong On So Many Levels...

PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama and black farmers
As a senator, Barack Obama led the charge last year to pass a bill allowing black farmers to seek new discrimination claims against the Agriculture Department. Now he is president, and his administration so far is acting like it wants the potentially budget-busting lawsuits to go away.

I would recount the ways that this story is so messed up, but I cannot begin to count the ways. So, I'll address the one find most offensive.

The fact that there exists an organization called the National Black Farmers Association I find completely racist and offensive. How can this still be happening in the U.S.?

I hesitate to post this story, as any article titled "Members battle the bulge" written by a journalist "Ericka Lovley" and sporting a picture of Barney Frank sounds like it's straight off 'The Onion' website. But, it appears not to be satire.

Having said that, only the pale, flabby, wrinkled, undisciplined, glutonous members of congress blame the "stress" of their cushy overpaid "jobs" for them being FAT.

They have their own private taxpayer paid for gym, get to set their own schedules, benefit from the best taxpayer paid for healthcare, eat in their own taxpayer paid for dining room, and STILL they blame anyone but themselves for their own crappy health.

"If I'm corrupt," said the congressman, "It's because I take care of my district."

John Murtha. He's a nut-job from the get-go, but he is duly elected to his office by the good redneck people of his district who have their hands out, their pie holes in the trough and the heads up their... Well, you get the picture.

But, you have to admire his tactlessness. He's not afraid to call the baby ugly, even when he's the ugly baby.

On the day the new Congress convened this year, [California Democrat]Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband's real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.

REALLY? I thought we were into a new era of transparency, hope and change... I guess some things never really change. All that changes if whether you have a (R) or a (D) after your name. Of course, if you a (D) after your name the MSM won't mention. That is why I added a little clarification in the article.

Mrs. Feinstein's [California Democrat Senator] intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.

This is delicious....

Spokesmen for the FDIC, Mrs. Feinstein [California Democrat Senator]and Mr. Blum's [California Democrat Senator's husband] firm told The Times that there was no connection between the legislation and the contract signed Nov. 13, and that the couple didn't even know about CBRE's business with FDIC until after it was awarded.

No, of course not! No, it was purely coincident. Lucky! But coincidental. Wait! It gets better:

Real estate specialists also question the government's generosity in the CBRE contract.

The firm, known for its commercial real estate services, is to be paid monthly maintenance fees for each foreclosed property it handles, as well as commissions and incentives. The total compensation can range from 8 percent of the sales price on many residential properties to 30 percent for properties worth $25,000 or less. A smaller firm also won a slice of the work with similar terms, records show.

Most real estate agents earn no more than 6 percent on residential, even on foreclosed properties, and CBRE doesn't have as much experience in foreclosure sales as other firms, the experts said.

Wanted: Someone to manage & sell foreclosed properties for the U.S. government.

But, wait it gets better!

The FDIC said politics was not involved in its decision, noting the contract was awarded after a six-month competition run by career staff who determined that CBRE was "deemed to be technically qualified and their fee structure fair and reasonable." That means the competition did not mandate the contract go to the lowest bidder necessarily, officials said.

I think I remember someone commenting on no-bid contracts.... Yes, yes.... Here it is:

But wait, it gets even better...

Mr. Blum [Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein' husband], whose position as chairman of CBRE is not full time, sets up partnerships through Blum Capital Partners that invests money for its clients and its owners. He reported owning more than $3 million in CBRE stock through various partnerships at the end of 2007, according to [California Democrat Senator] Mrs. Feinstein's personal financial disclosure statement...

..."Our third quarter results reflected the extremely challenging market conditions, which continued to deteriorate globally," Brett White, president and chief executive officer of CBRE, said in early November.

A few days later, CBRE raised $207 million through a stock offering that sold for $3.77 a share. Mr. Blum's investment partnerships bought 10.6 million shares at the market price of $3.77. The stock offering was announced a couple of days before the signing of the FDIC contract.

What's the saying? "Timing is everything."

BUT WAIT (This is the story that keeps on giving)! There's more!

CBRE has the chance to collect the largest percentage of the sales price for properties worth $25,000 or less, under a flat fee agreement far more generous than the private sector.

Under the FDIC contract, CBRE charges a $5,000 sales commission for each property and can collect an additional $2,500 incentive fee if they sell it in under six months. In other words, they can collect as much as $7,500 on the sale of a property worth $25,000 or less - which works out to a sales commission of 30 percent or more.

Ms. Kenner said she charges $2,000 to $2,500 to sell properties worth $25,000 or less. Another firm, Prescient Inc., which won a similar FDIC contract at the same time as CBRE, charges a $1,948 commission and a $485 incentive fee.

"I think it is a little egregious," Mr. Shaw said of the CBRE compensation deal for small properties.

I think I heard something related to this recently. Oh, yeah, now I remember... Here it is:

Maybe those people buying the houses under $25,000? Won't those be "the working poor"?
Will we see picketing outside CBRE offices? Will we see investigations of whether this is "predatory" sales tactics?

Other experts said they do not think that the Senate Ethics Committee will take any action because [California Democrat Senator] Mrs. Feinstein's legislation did not directly financially benefit her husband and was aimed at solving a problem affecting a broad section of America.


Robert L. Walker, a former chief Senate Ethics Committee counsel, said the Senate conflict rule is so narrow that it "almost requires a senator's sponsorship of a private bill resulting in some personal or family benefit before a violation of the rule would be found."

Oh. Well then. That clears it all up....

Candidate Obama pledged to allow non-emergency legislation to be posted for at least five days on the White House Web site for public comment before signing bills into law. But President Obama has signed six bills into law after less than five days, and of the other three, only one was posted for more than five days before receiving his signature. The latest campaign pledge breaker signed by Obama this week was a $10 billion land-conservation bill that did anything but "conserve." In fact, it puts some oil-rich land out of bounds.

Time to give credit, where credit is due..

Yeah, Right!

The key lines in the article:

Chip Mahan, CEO of Wilmington, N.C.-based Live Oak Bank, which lends primarily to veterinary businesses: "The main difference is in the philosophy of the SBA, which used to be that it would pay for itself. But if you want to stimulate the economy like this administration is attempting to do, you have to try something different."


The $15 billion, coming from the U.S. Treasury Department, will be used to purchase securities backed by the SBA-guaranteed loans in an attempt to jump-start the secondary credit market for small businesses.

Clearly Steve Forbes does not read everything that gets printed. He would never have allowed this story to be titled this way. This story should have been titled, "Throwing Good Money After Bad."

Obama's decision to run a (formerly "pay for itself") government agency as a non-profit, should come as no surprise to anyone.

This is more of the same. Who will buy up these SBA Loans? Treasury? With more printed money, devaluing the dollar even more? More crazy talk!

I have run the SBA gauntlet in the past. It sucked then, as it does now. Sadly, with the auto industry under government control, energy will be next, then healthcare.... All run as well as the SBA, FDA, SSA.... See what we have to look forward to?

2 year-old Muslim girl beaten to death last week in Chicago…Where is the outrage?

On the night of April 5, Orland Park police arrested Nour Hadid, 26 after paramedics rushed her 2 year-old niece Bhia to Palos Community Hospital. The little girl was unconscious and died from severe injuries to her brain and kidneys, which she sustained during four days of beatings.

The most outrageous item in the story:

In fact, the only outrage that has been expressed in this case is from the Muslim community, who are outraged not over the little girl’s brutal murder, but over the fact that Nour Hadid was not allowed to wear her headscarf for her mugshot.<br>
Dr. Mohammed Sahloul, chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Chicago, expressed his outrage to the Southtown Star by saying: "they should respect the modesty of the accused."

Hadid’s husband Alaeddin said the mugshot was an "insult against our religion." He has promised to sue the Orland Park Police Department for the photo. He has expressed no similar outrage over his wife beating to death their 2 year-old niece.

Have we gotten to the point that Political Correctness cannot allow fair to reporting of crimes, just because they are committed by Muslim's? What's next?

States are raising taxes despite the 'stimulus'; New York is No. 1.
Like the old competition to have the world's tallest building, New York can't resist having the nation's highest taxes. So after California raised its top income tax rate to 10.55% last month, Albany's politicians leapt into action to reclaim high-tax honors. Maybe C-Span can make this tax competition a new reality TV series; Carla Bruni, the first lady of France, could host.

They can invite politicians from the at least 10 other states that are also considering major tax hikes, including Oregon, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, Arizona and New Jersey. One explicit argument for the $787 billion "stimulus" bill was to help states avoid these tax increases that even Keynesians understand are contractionary. Instead, the state politicians are pocketing the federal cash to maintain spending, and raising taxes anyway. Just another spend-and-tax bait and switch.

In New York, Assembly Speaker (and de facto Governor) Sheldon Silver and other Democrats will impose a two percentage point "millionaire tax" on New Yorkers who earn more than $200,000 a year ($300,000 for couples). This will lift the top state tax rate to 8.97% and the New York City rate to 12.62%. Since capital gains and dividends are taxed as ordinary income, New York will impose the nation's highest taxes on investment income -- at a time when Wall Street is in jeopardy of losing its status as the world's financial capital.

....The richest 1% of New Yorkers already pay almost 40% of the income tax, and the top 0.5% pay 30%.

Remember these rates are IN ADDITION to federal tax rates poised to go up to 39.5% at the end of 2010.

Walker accused Doyle of negligence, resulting in an election system “more akin to Hugo Chavez’s rigged polls in Venezuela than the proud Wisconsin tradition.”

I Like What Walker Says About Wisconsin's "Proud Tradition".

Yeah, like "Fighting Bob" La Follette (Progressive Party candidate for President) or Frank Zeidler (American Socialist mayor of Milwaukee).

In 1994, the Colorado Legislature passed a 10th Amendment resolution and later introduced a bill titled "State Sovereignty Act." Had the State Sovereignty Act passed both houses of the legislature, it would have required all people liable for any federal tax that's a component of the highway users fund, such as a gasoline tax, to remit those taxes directly to the Colorado Department of Revenue. The money would have been deposited in an escrow account called the "Federal Tax Fund" and remitted monthly to the IRS, along with a list of payees and respective amounts paid. If Congress imposed sanctions on Colorado for failure to obey an unconstitutional mandate and penalized the state by withholding funds due, say $5 million for highway construction, the State Sovereignty Act would have prohibited the state treasurer from remitting any funds in the escrow account to the IRS. Instead, Colorado would have imposed a $5 million surcharge on the Federal Tax Fund account to continue the highway construction.

The eight state legislatures that have enacted 10th Amendment resolutions deserve our praise, but their next step is to give them teeth.

Few on Capitol Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006. Don't believe it?.... then read it and you'll see!

A review of Barack Obama's most recent actions since he was inaugurated: His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered all overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

What happened to America, "home of the brave" who saved Europe (twice) from the onslaught of fascism?

What happened to America, "the land of the free" where businesses where allowed to start up, grow and fail when necessary?

What happened to the America of "baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet" where athlete didn't have to testify on Capital Hill (because congress was too busy with real government affairs), apple pie didn't need 'country of origin labeling' (because Mom made it) and the POTUS did not have the authority to fire the CEO of GM?

Do we really want to be just like France, Britain, Denmark and other socialist democracies? REALLY?

Obama Wants to Control the Banks
There's a reason he refuses to accept repayment of TARP money.
The most telling paragraph:

Fast forward to today, and that same bank is begging to give the money back. The chairman offers to write a check, now, with interest. He's been sitting on the cash for months and has felt the dead hand of government threatening to run his business and dictate pay scales. He sees the writing on the wall and he wants out. But the Obama team says no, since unlike the smaller banks that gave their TARP money back, this bank is far more prominent. The bank has also been threatened with "adverse" consequences if its chairman persists. That's politics talking, not economics.

It's not about the money. For BHO (and all leftists) it's about CONTROL! Taking away liberty. Imposing government control. It's about (and I quote), "Returning America's wealth to its rightful owners" (he means the 'little' people).

HUDSON -- Greg McNeil competed with city, county and state officials for Ohio's federal stimulus money and wound up winning $168,323 to silence train horns at a crossing near his home.

McNeil's project, on behalf of his homeowners association, was one of only 149 chosen last week by the Ohio Department of Transportation from 2,222 eligible to receive $774 million in infrastructure money. His is the only submission from a private citizen to receive ODOT's nod.

"I tell you, we were ecstatic," he said. "This was just tremendous."

Here we go folks. Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be wild ride of stupid, excessive, wasteful, useless, make work projects for years...

Venezuelan leader: 'Capitalism needs to go down'

TEHRAN, Iran – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ridiculed the G-20 summit's attempts to deal with the global financial meltdown, saying that the "values of capitalism are in crisis" and capitalism "has to end."

Speaking to Venezuelan state television late Thursday, Chavez said the United States and Britain are "the most guilty" for the financial crisis sweeping the globe because of the financial model "they've been imposing for years."

Caracas mayor tells Venezuela's military to ignore Chavez
In a stunning show of defiance, Caracas Mayor Antonio Ledezma called on Venezuela's military forces to disobey orders from President Chávez because they are against constitutional law.

El Pais reported today that the mayor made this known during a protest which took place on Saturday in the city of San Cristóbal, and which was organized by mayors, governors, deputies, and opposition student leaders. The protest was against centralization and in support of Maracaibo mayor, Manuel Rosales, who is under judicial inquiry.

On March 22nd, 2009, Hugo Chávez ordered the army to take back control of the country's harbors and airport facilities, which according to the government, must be administered by the central government. The opposition, which holds mayors in three main Venezuelan ports, asserts that these have to stay under control of local authorities.

Táchira governor César Pérez Vivas, also of the opposition was quoted as saying: 'What a shame for our people's history : our armed forces are being used the wrong way, and are being led in a perverse and corrupt manner. They are destroying a fundamental institution.'

Ledezma has urged for the formation of a national front to defend Venezuelan democracy to oppose Chavez management of the economy, labor and safety matters.

How long before BHO order the ports to be secured? My bet is after he’s taken over the energy & healthcare. 36 months on the outside.
